Cruise Highlights

Roatan, Honduras

Roatan, the largest of the Bay Islands of Honduras, is noted for its pristine coral reefs, beautiful beaches, lush tropical foliage, and friendly people. The island has a mountainous backbone that provides for some excellent hiking opportunities, panoramas and lush scenery. Surrounded by warm Caribbean waters, this hilly island (frequented by diving enthusiasts) is picturesque, unspoiled and can take claim to being one of the region's fastest developing destinations.

Belize City, Belize

Belize has the highest concentration of Mayan sites of all the countries in Central America. Diving is Belize's main claim to fame due to an almost unbroken line of reefs and cayes extending for 150 miles along its coast that make up the longest reef system in the western hemisphere (and the second longest in the world).

Belize City, Belize

Cozumel, Mexico

Silver jewelry in the shops of San Miguel while having a great time in its many local bars and restaurants. Plus, the waters around Cozumel's coral reefs make this one of the best snorkeling areas in the world.

Cozumel, Mexico

Things you don't want to miss:

Roatan, Honduras: is home to unforgettably bright rainbow-colored fish and coral. One of the best ways to sample Roatan's seafood is in one of the popular local soups: If a restaurant has sopa marinera on the menu, try it — it’s loaded with crab, shrimp, mussels, and fish. Or go for sopa de caracol, a conch–laden soup that’s so adored, a Latin pop song was written about it.

Maya Ruins are one of the main Belize attractions and make the country stand out from other one-dimensional destinations such as manufactured beaches, concrete roads, and franchise fast food joints on every corner. Visit the largest concentrations of temples and underground ritual chambers, as well as a magnificent repository of art in gold, jade, obsidian, pottery, elaborate stone carvings and paintings.

While in Cozumel, Mexico, don't miss the opportunity to explore the ruins of the ancient Mayan city of Tulúm, majestically perched above the turquoise Caribbean. The site was occupied as far back as 600 A.D. You will be struck by the pyramid–shaped El Castillo, which dominates the city from atop a forty–foot cliff. The nearby Temple of the Descending God provides equally excellent insight into the architecture of the Mayan people, who gained considerable achievements in the arts and sciences, only to decline and vanish for no apparent reason.
